Damage to blood vessels inside the retina from blood sugar buildup is called diabetic retinopathy.
When glucose levels are high, the walls of your blood vessels leak fluid, which severely damages the blood vessels and can compromise your vision over time.

Blurred Vision
Difficulty maintaining sharp focus on objects, causing a generalized blurriness.
Distorted Vision
Straight lines or shapes may appear wavy or bent out of shape.
Decreased/Dim Vision
Colors may appear washed out, and overall brightness of vision is reduced.
Sudden Vision Loss
Experiencing partial or complete loss of vision suddenly without warning.
Shapes Floating
Seeing spots, dark strings, or cobwebs (floaters) drifting through your vision.
Diagnosis
Our doctor will diagnose the condition thoroughly using advanced medical procedures:
- Comprehensive vision assessment test.
- Dilated pupil and fundus examinations.
- Cataract exams performed on a slit lamp.
- Detailed Fundus/Floria and/or OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) tests.
Treatment Protocol

- Intra-Vitreal Injections: Administered when necessary to target advanced macular edema or severe leaking.
